Alpharetta Downtown Development Plan: Character Survey

The following survey is one tool being utilized by the City of Alpharetta to gather community input into the Downtown Redevelopment Plan.  The survey includes a series of 60 visual images to help citizens provide input into the potential design and architectural character of future civic buildings (City Hall and Fulton County Library), private development, and community open space.  Preliminary survey results will be shared at the public meeting on Thursday, July 21, 2011, 7:30 PM at City Hall.

Instructions:  Rate each sample image on a scale from 1 to 5.  “1 Star” being not appropriate or undesirable for Downtown Alpharetta, “5 Stars” being most appropriate or most desirable for the future of Downtown Alpharetta.  The survey is not intended to result in the definitive architectural style for Downtown.  Rather, it is designed to help close in on the community’s desires for the character of any new development associated with the Downtown Plan.

You will rank images in 4 categories.  The first two sections focus on the potential architectural style of future development.  The second two sections focus on the character and quality of potential parks and open spaces.

Architecture- Civic Buildings (City Hall and Fulton County Library)

Architecture- Private Development

Open Space- Town Square along Main Street
